Dunn Christmas Extravaganza Parade – Rules & Information
Thank you for participating in the 2025 Dunn Chamber Christmas Parade & City of Dunn Tree Lighting. To help ensure a safe, enjoyable, and family-friendly event, all participants are required to follow the guidelines outlined for this parade.
The registered applicant is fully responsible for the conduct and safety of every individual, vehicle, and piece of equipment within their entry. By participating, the registrant agrees that they—and all members of their group—understand and will comply with all parade rules.
Participation also serves as acknowledgment that the registrant assumes all risks associated with their entry and agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Dunn Development Corporation for any claims, incidents, or damages arising from their participation.
General Parade Rules

No candy, toys, or items may be thrown from floats or vehicles. Walkers may hand out candy, toys, and items safely along the route. Limited to 1 walker on each side of the vehicle or float. If a Walker Registration is included, walkers will be behind the registered float/vehicle.
• All drivers
must be 21 years or older with a valid driver's license
• All vehicles must have a
valid registration and current inspection. Dunn PD or DACC may request documentation. Failure to provide required documentation will result in removal of the registered participant from the parade.

No “farm only” equipment permitted in the parade.
•
Vehicle parking lights must remain ON (no headlights) throughout the parade
•
No political signs, campaign references, election messaging, or partisan materials of any kind at any time during the duration of the parade – lineup to completion
• The Christmas Parade is a beloved family friendly event. Please note, we will not allow
controversial or inappropriate messaging – including signs, handouts, use of profanity, explicit music/lyrics, or offensive signage or audio.

All lineup positions are final. No changes or rearranging of lineup is permitted without approval of a DACC staff member. Violators will be removed from the parade lineup.
• Registrants are responsible for the actions and behavior of all riders, walkers, and participants in their group.

No additional Santa costumes or impersonators. Santa will appear as the official Dunn Chamber guest. Unapproved Santa’s will be removed from the parade lineup.
Line‑Up & Staging Information
Line‑up begins at
3 p.m. The parade begins promptly at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
Your lineup number, assigned entry point, will be emailed the week of the parade. Line up positions are the discretion of the Dunn Chamber. All participants will be be assigned a designated entry point. Entry through a non-assigned entry point will be denied, due to safety considerations. Your
line up number AND entry point will be identified in email communication. Please add this information to your lineup sign.
Vehicles must display their lineup sign to access staging areas (lime green sheet enclosed).
Drop-Off & Staging Details
- Individual Vehicles (classic cars, beauty queens, business entries):
The vehicle for the registered participant will be permitted to enter through the assigned entry points, with the lineup sign in the window. Drop off vehicles will
NOT be permitted in the staging area. Vehicles parked in non-designated parking areas or on private property, are subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
- Walkers and float riders:
Must be dropped off at designated entry points. This information should be obtained from your entry organizer.
No vehicles will be permitted to enter without a lineup sign.
- Commercial Trucks, Large Units, Fire/Rescue:
Park in the T‑Mart Parking Area at N. General Lee Ave. & W. Broad St.
Staging at W. Broad St. & N. Wayne Ave. up to
Kim’s BBQ. Parking is available at the end of the parade route near N. Elm Ave. by City Hall. Look for signs.
- Dance & Performing Groups:
Stand‑still performances are limited to
60–90 seconds, with an
additional 30‑second performance requested at the stage area, located at the intersection of Wilson Ave and Broad St.
- Professional Float Riders (DACC-provided floats):
Rider drop‑off is at Dunn Elementary School carpool entrance.
No parking allowed. The Dunn Elementary parking lot will NOT be used for general parking.
Helmets are required at all times. No stunts, wheelies, tire spinning, or excessive revving will be permitted.
General Note: Only registered units may enter the lineup area. Share all drop‑off instructions with your group. No unloading from floats at the end of the parade route as this blocks the street and causes a bottleneck resulting in a safety concern.
This is a rain‑or‑shine event. No refunds or credits will be issued for any reason.
